Congratulations to Nenad Radic and the Romani Arts and Culture Collective for organising the hugely successful Ushtipe Festival held at Addison Road Community Centre in my local electorate on 12 April. 

Congratulations Bike Marrickville on the 20th anniversary of the famous Chocolate and Fine Food Ride held this year on 5 April under brilliant blue skies.

I was honoured to attend the recent Dulwich Hill Women in Business International Women's Day event held at the beautiful Catherine Colubriale Couture premises.

Marrickville's very own Lazybones Lounge Restaurant and Bar has taken out the coveted title of Licensee of the Year Award at the 2025 Australasian Performing Rights Association—APRA—Music Awards.

I had the immense joy of marching in the 2025 Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras with Rainbow Families.

I acknowledge the critical work being done by the Marrickville Intensive English Centre, located at Marrickville High School.

 Access to affordable, safe and reliable public transport is a key determinant in creating opportunities for work and education and in improving the quality of life for people across our State.

 I thank the many volunteers and staff from the Marrickville and Ashfield SES units, who, along with many others, gave up their time, left their families and headed north to help in the preparation and response to Tropical Cyclone Alfred. 

I was saddened to hear of the recent passing of Joy Lewis, a much-loved member of Marrickville Heritage Society.
