NSW Government supports all recommendations of Special Commission into historical LGBTIQ+ hate crimes

The NSW Government is today releasing its formal response to the NSW Special Commission of Inquiry into Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Queer (LGBTIQ) Hate Crimes.

The NSW Government will today introduce a bill to parliament to ban LGBTQ+ conversion practices, fulfilling a key election commitment.

On Sunday 7 May, Rainbow Families NSW hosted its annual Family Pride Day at Marrickville Town Hall, marking the local celebration of International Family Equality Day, a world-wide celebration of LGBTIQA+ parenting.

A Minns Labor Government will ban LGBTQ+ conversion practices in New South Wales.

On 11 October we celebrated National Coming Out Day, a day to show support to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and queer people in our lives.

Politics, at its best, seeks to lift others up to unify and allow every citizen to achieve their full potential. The converse is politics that seeks to divide and denigrate. As transgender and gender-diverse people in my electorate and across New South Wales know, they are too often the target of the latter.

April 26 marked Lesbian Visibility Day, where we celebrate the lesbians in our lives and acknowledge the barriers and challenges they continue to face.

I congratulate Inner West Council on hosting their first ever trans and gender diverse swim night at Ashfield Aquatic Centre last month.
