I was honoured to attend the recent re‑opening of HJ Mahoney Reserve on Saturday 13 April, along with many members of local sporting teams and representatives from Inner West Council.

On 23 March the new Aboriginal Survival Memorial in Yeo Park entitled 'Breathe' was officially opened.

For the past few years, Marrickville residents have patiently watched as the new Nightingale Marrickville project has taken shape over Illawarra Road. 

I invite everyone to come down to the Cooks River Croquet Club at Mackey Park over the ANZAC Day long weekend to enjoy the inaugural Sharpe Fletcher Invitational for U/35s.

I wish to recognise the passing of Father Nicholas Bozikis, a significant, influential and much-loved figure in the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia and my local community.

I wish to congratulate the Hurlstone Park Wanderers on celebrating their 100th birthday with the kick-off of their centenary season. 

I want to acknowledge Ms Gemma Beall for her contribution to community sport in the Inner West through her years of commitment to the Summer Hill Lakers Netball Club.

I encourage everyone to come down to the Summer Hill Social on Sunday 10 March between 11am and 5pm.

The vibrant café culture of the Inner West is just one of the many reasons that we love our local neighbourhood and I am happy to welcome a great new addition to the scene in Pelican.

I wish to extend my congratulations to all the Class of 2023 across my Summer Hill electorate.
