With spring in full bloom this month, Sunnyfield Disability Services have launched their weekly Green Thumbs program.
Sunnyfield is an organisation that supports children, youth and adults with disabilities to connect with their local community, as well as build independence and useful skills.
Recently, Sunnyfield's Dulwich Hill Hub has begun hosting gardening activities free for the community. The program is at 3 to 6pm every Wednesday and is intended to run every week into December 2023!
During these sessions, participants will be able to get outdoors and soak up the sunshine with mates while they get their hands dirty growing their own produce. The garden at the Dulwich Hill Hub is also home to a flock of chickens that participants can tend to throughout the afternoon.
The Green Thumbs program is a wonderful opportunity to breathe in some fresh air, learn a new skill, work in a team, and make some friends along the way.
I thank Stella Nicodemou at Sunnyfield for organising such a valuable program for the Dulwich Hill community.
