The Inner West Council recently held an event naming a prominent balcony at the new Marrickville Library for inner west LGBTIQ+ and feminist trailblazer, Ida Leeson. 

Greg will forever be remembered for his performance on the court and his lifelong contributions to Australian tennis.

Kirsty Rose has been assisting vulnerable young people in our education system for over 21 years. For the past five of those, she has served as Principal of Waranara School in Marrickville.

Most of all, we have been moved by our common humanity and our essential drive to support one another and to have each other's backs. Let us grieve together. Let us rage together. Let us express our deepest gratitude together. But most of all, let us never forget these past few months, because we need to work together and fight side by side to make sure it never happens again.

Stanmore Festival of Music is an annual community music festival, bringing together a wide variety of inner west musical talents and tunes.

The inner west is Sydney’s cultural capital. The Perfect Match program, which I initiated as Mayor of Marrickville, has grown from a small trial to a pivotal part of the council’s annual Edge festival.

Last month I was pleased to host an Inner West Youth Mental Health Forum at Petersham Bowling Club. The forum was an opportunity to learn more about the pressures young people face and the scale of the challenge we face together.

Paint the Town REaD in Marrickville teaches families, early childhood educators and communities the importance of literacy for growing minds.

Walking Volunteers are a group of avid walking enthusiasts who give their time and expertise to map out continuous walking routes around Sydney for the benefit of all Sydneysiders.

Sunday October 20th marked the 43rd Annual Walkthon for the Greek Welfare Centre, hosted by St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Parish in Marrickville.
