Over the last week, our news feeds and TV screens have been flooded with the horror of the fatal boarding house fire on Albermarle Street, Newtown. 

I am very proud to acknowledge the formal opening of Among The Trees, a new organisation that reclaims and recycles used timber in Marrickville.

Ashfield Public School is one of 210 schools across New South Wales designated as high progress, with students demonstrating above-average progress in literacy, numeracy and reading.

Cricket Clubs across the country, including Inner West clubs, held a reconciliation round this past weekend, acknowledging and celebrating First Nations people.

Residents across the inner west are mopping up today following flash flooding in yesterday's storms. The Bureau of Meteorology reported that Marrickville Golf Club was the "wettest place in the State" with over 165 millilitres falling in just 24 hours.

Each year, local residents generously donate toys and books for my Annual Christmas Toy Drive, with donations going to kids and families supported by AbSec, the NSW Child, Family and Community Peak Aboriginal Corporation.

I am very proud to announce that Chrissy Flanagan, co‑founder and owner of Sausage Queen Brewing and Sausage Factory, is the 2022 Summer Hill Woman of the Year.
