Radio Skid Row has been broadcasting for 37 years, providing an important media platform for marginalised communities including the indigenous community, migrant workers, incarcerated and young people.

I contribute to debate on the Liquor Amendment (24‑hour Economy) Bill 2020. The year 2020 has not exactly given us much to laugh about. However, one of my favourite memes doing the rounds suggests that when figuring out the best way to shut down a city and impose a night‑time curfew Victorian Premier Dan Andrews asked New South Wales. For far too long Sydney has risked its reputation as a fun, safe and noisy global city through its approach to liquor regulation and its refusal to acknowledge the benefits of its night-time economy.

COVID-19 has had a devastating impact on industries across our economy; however, none more so than the arts.

I am pleased to make a submission on the Draft Liquor Amendment 24-hour Economy Bill 2020 on behalf of inner west business owners in the Summer Hill electorate. 

As you will know, the Inner West is a vital cultural and nightlife hub in Sydney’s night-time economy. Ensuring that the inner west can expand its unique and diverse night-time economy while ensuring public safety is of deep importance to many business owners, hospitality workers, and patrons in the Summer Hill electorate. 

A question to the Government on how they are supporting arts and entertainment organisations during COVID-19.

Stanmore Festival of Music is an annual community music festival, bringing together a wide variety of inner west musical talents and tunes.

The inner west is Sydney’s cultural capital. The Perfect Match program, which I initiated as Mayor of Marrickville, has grown from a small trial to a pivotal part of the council’s annual Edge festival.
