Notes 13 February 2021 marks the 13th anniversary of the National Apology to Australia's Indigenous peoples.

COVID-19 has caused widespread uncertainty and people are rightly looking to our public institutions for consistency and confidence. Our criminal justice system is under scrutiny as we interrogate the ways it often lets down the most vulnerable, including our First Nations people. The Black Lives Matter movement calls out the unforgivable racism in our criminal justice system—racism that cannot be denied and that demands urgent action.

The River Canoe Club on the banks of the Cooks River has recently had a facelift with the new River Flow mural commissioned by Inner West Council's Perfect Match program. 

National Reconciliation Week shines a light on the persistent gap between Indigenous Australians and non-indigenous Australians and is a call to action for all Australians to continue the important work of reconciliation.
