1 December is World AIDS Day with this year's theme 'Now more than Ever'. The focus of World AIDS Day is to increase awareness, promote prevention strategies to reduce transmission and to support the full participation of people living with HIV AIDS in our community. I acknowledge the important work of organisations including ACON, The NSW Users and AIDS Association, the Australian Federation of AIDS Organisations, the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation and The Institute of Many, as well as all the health workers across the Inner West who work to support people living with HIV-AIDS. I also acknowledge the many parents, families, and partners who have lost a loved one to HIV/AIDS. This year, people will be able to support ACON's Red Ribbon Appeal by making a donation and pinning a virtual red ribbon to their online platforms, or by hosting an online or COVID-safe in-person fundraising event. Thank you to all organisations who will be marking World AIDS Day this year.
