I would like to congratulate the Wolli Creek Preservation Society, in partnership with the River Canoe Club of NSW for once again hosting the popular Wolli Creek Eco Paddle on Sunday 5 May 2024. This event started and finished at the River Canoe Club clubhouse in Marrickville and catered to all paddling abilities as well as children over 10 accompanied by an adult. This successful partnership saw the canoe club provide the necessary gear and paddling guidance, supported by an informative guided tour allowing participants to get a different view of the Wolli Creek Valley from the water. As well as being a gentle introduction to paddling, participants learned about local wildlife, history and the local environment. These tours have been highly successful in recent years and are often booked out. Thank you to Peter Stevens of the Wolli Creek Preservation Society and Murray Waldron of the River Canoe Club for coordinating and hosting such an exciting event! With the next eco-paddle coming up on Sunday 19 May I encourage everyone to get involved and enjoy seeing the wonderful Inner West from a unique new perspective.
