I was saddened to hear of the recent passing of Dr Peter Bokor, a much‑loved local Marrickville doctor. Peter was dedicated to his local community and was a trusted, caring General Practitioner in Marrickville for 56 years, from 1960 to 2016, retiring at 86. A long-serving GP provides a strong foundation for community wellbeing; builds trust, provides consistent care, understands local health needs, and forms lasting relationships. Peter provided all of this and more. Known for his generous care for the vulnerable in our community, Peter cared for the Sisters of the Good Samaritans, the Maronite Sisters and the residents at the Salvation Army Men's Hostel. He will be fondly remembered by his countless patients that came from multiple generations of many families. I offer my sincere condolences and thoughts to Peter's family. Vale Dr Peter and thank you for your enormous contribution to our community.
