Well done to the Uniting Thomas Roseby Lodge who are celebrating the grand opening of their new Street Library on Thursday 21 September. Thomas Roseby Lodge is located in the heart of my Summer Hill electorate in vibrant Marrickville and has 41 residents. It is vitally important for residents in aged care to remain connected to people and interests that give meaning and purpose to their lives. This Street Library is just such an opportunity – a chance to share their love of books and to involve and establish connections between themselves and their neighbours. Street libraries have grown in popularity in recent years as they are simple yet wonderful ways we can all enjoy reading, share with our neighbours and support community connection. I encourage everyone to bring along a book and share in the joy of reading across generations. Congratulations Thomas Roseby Lodge.
