I move that this House:

  1. Acknowledges that 28 July was World Hepatitis Day, a day to recognise people with Hepatitis C and to raise awareness about HIV and Hepatitis C (HCV) co-infection.

  2. Welcomes news that doctors predict Hepatitis C will be eradicated from Australia by 2026, due to listing new-generation medicines on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.

  3. Specifically thanks front-line workers in drug and alcohol services across the state, who have played a vital role in informing the community and linking people with hepatitis to treatment.
