Community spirit was on full display at the Summer Hill Social as live music, amazing food and street vendors of all kinds took over Lacky St and Smith St. The energy and enthusiasm were infectious as neighbours mingled, children played and talented performers took the stage. It was a wonderful way to soak up the end of the warm summer weather. I was glad to be able to catch up with local business owners including from Joe Rechichi, from Andiamo and Valerie Deeks, Versha Gupta, Camille Bahier from Aperitif and Co. Roaming brass band Hot Potato – who kept everyone entertained and dancing all day were a particular highlight. Thanks to the staff at the Inner West Council and the volunteers who pour their heart and soul into making this event a success year after year. Their dedication to fostering community spirit is inspiring. Events like Summer Hill Social are what make our inner west community so vibrant, and I can't wait for next year's celebration.
