Padel has arrived in style to Marrickville! I had the pleasure of attending the official opening of Sidewall Social on Friday 21 August, a new purpose-built indoor padel club on Carrington Road. Housed within a beautifully repurposed industrial building, Sidewall reflects Marrickville's continuing evolution as a destination for recreation, hospitality and creative enterprise. The opening featured an exhibition padel match, club tours and demonstrations, and the chance to meet the founders behind this exciting new venture. Built around the belief that great sport brings people together, Sidewall is set to become a welcoming place where people of all ages and abilities can connect through sport. Thank you to the team behind Sidewall, specifically Andrew Fineran, Mark Longhurst, and Ceris Lane for your vision in bringing this outstanding facility to Marrickville, and for the warm welcome extended to me and the local community on the day. I congratulate everyone involved in bringing Sidewall Social to life, and I look forward to seeing this fantastic new addition to our local sporting scene thrive for years to come.
