That this House:

1. Condemns the Federal Governments' cuts to the Arts, resulting in "black Friday" when 65 small and medium arts companies were stripped of funding.

2. Acknowledges the vital role the arts play in supporting vibrant communities, tourism, a diverse and strong economy, as well as a more meaningful understanding of the human experience.

3. Calls on the Government to work with its Federal counterparts to reverse these undesirable cuts and restore optimism and backing to the arts ecology.
