I move that this House: 

  1. Notes the frustration of Ashbury residents with the existing community consultation process in planning, which left them excluded from consultation around the Chubb and Tyres 4 U site planning proposals.

  2. Calls on the Government to commit fully to the early consultation requirements outlined in the draft planning legislation and to ensure these requirements also apply to Planning Proposals.

  3. Draws the attention of the Government to the IAP2 Public Participation Spectrum, which provides a best practice approach to community consultation and involvement.
