I am incredibly proud of the Aussie men's eight for placing 6th overall at the Olympics in Paris! Ably led by Haberfield local Kendall Brodie in the coxswain's seat, they've done a phenomenal job and made us all very proud. A true pioneer in her sport Kendall created history in 2018 when she became the first woman to steer the Australian men's coxed eight in international competition after rule changes from World Rowing allowed for coxswains to become gender neutral. Kendall has since gone on to become an integral member of the team. In 2023, Kendall was the rudder for the men's eight for a successful season, with the highlight being a first-place finish at the World Rowing Cup III in which the Australians upset the favourites the United Kingdom in the final. Later that year Kendall would also be coxswain in a second-straight bronze medal finish for Australia at the World Championships. Congratulations Kendall!
