Newtown Jets continue to prove they are Australia's coolest rugby league club, hosting two recent fantastic events. The inaugural Welcome Day was held on June 24, to show that rugby league is a game for all and ensure everyone feels welcome and at home at Henson Park. Held in conjunction with Heaps Gay and The Music and Booze Co the day was a great example of the diversity and welcoming spirit of the Inner West. The 2023 Beer Footy and Food Festival has seen its biggest event yet with an enormous crowd of over 10,500 packing Henson Park under brilliant blue skies on July 22. More than 25 brewers and a host of local foodies kept the enthusiastic and happy crowd well fed and refreshed, with great entertainment both on the field and off. Unfortunately, the valiant Newton Jets went down to the Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles 28-12. Congratulations and thanks to the Newtown Jets, The Music and Booze Company and Heaps Gay for yet again putting on sensational events for the Inner West community.
