Nearly four decades ago, a young student volunteer walked into a Community Legal Centre and began what would become one of the most dedicated and impactful careers in the community legal sector. This July, Natalie Ross retires as Principal Solicitor from the Welfare Rights Centre ‑ bringing to a close almost 40 years of tireless service to some of the most vulnerable people in our community. Across her remarkable career, Natalie has worked in Community Legal Centres, undertaken significant test cases, trained the next generation of solicitors and been an unwavering advocate for access to justice. She has given so much of herself so that others might navigate a legal system that can so often feel overwhelming and out of reach. As a Marrickville local, Natalie's commitment to community has been personal, practical and deeply felt. To the clients whose lives she has changed, the solicitors she has mentored and the colleagues who have worked alongside her — Natalie's legacy will be felt for many years to come. Congratulations Natalie, and thank you for all you have contributed.
