Thank you to Marrickville High School for hosting the important Post School Expo for Disability Students. On 8 June, the local school invited in over thirty stall holders run by local and tertiary organisations as well as providers that specialise in disability services. Students and their families came to Marrickville from a variety of different high schools across Sydney to seek information on post school pathways and opportunities for students with disabilities. Of the many helpful stall holders, our Inner West Council was also represented, offering materials that support and empower students to participate in local programs and events that recognise their needs. The expo was hosted in the Marrickville High School gym and ran smoothly with the help of a group of wonderful students who offered welcoming meet and greets to visitors attending the event. Those in attendance have commented on how informative the expo turned out for themselves and their children. I congratulate the staff and students of Marrickville High School for their assistance in providing an important community service, as well as all the organisations and service providers who ran stalls.
