I warmly congratulate the Marrickville Girl Guides on their centenary celebrations.
The Marrickville Girl Guides is the oldest registered Girl Guides company in New South Wales and has been active in the local community for generations.
The values of service, inclusion, resilience, friendship and leadership have never been so important. By instilling them, the Marrickville Girl Guides have made an incredible contribution to the local community and have fostered young women to reach their full potential.
I recognise all those who have been part of the journey for the Marrickville Girl Guides.
I especially acknowledge the parents and volunteers who work tirelessly to continue the traditions and values of the company.
A special mention must be paid to Brown Owl Robyn Mumford, who has been a pillar of the company for 50 years, having been a Girl Guide herself before spending years ensuring that other young women have the ability to participate and thrive. Women like Robyn are the backbone of our community, volunteering countless hours and offering invaluable experience, diligence and leadership to foster and support those same qualities in other local young women.
Congratulations, Marrickville Girl Guides.
