Congratulations to Luisa Ferronato, recently inducted as Ashfield Cricket Club's first female Life Member. Ashfield Cricket Club has roots dating back to 1862, and for much of that time it has been shaped by the efforts of local men. But Luisa has changed that story. Over the past 16 years, she has served as team manager, coach, Registrar, Junior Secretary, Child Safety Officer, and long-standing Executive Committee member. From running the Milo Cricket program, managing junior teams, guiding the club through asbestos closures, heatwaves, bushfire smoke and a pandemic, to championing girls' cricket and securing vital grants—Luisa has done it all with passion, persistence, and grace. She's not only helped field winning teams, but also built a stronger, more inclusive club. As anyone who has been involved in the running of community sport knows, pats on the back are few and far between and criticism ever present. However, Lusia has given up hundreds of hours of her own time in providing children in the inner west with safe and healthy sporting opportunities, always displaying exceptional professionalism and dedication. Congratulations, Luisa. You are a true local legend.
