Congratulations and thank you to Australian Red Cross Lifeblood on bringing a pop-up donor centre to Ashfield Town Hall from 2 to 7 March! This is a fantastic opportunity for locals to donate blood or plasma right here in our neighbourhood at 260 Liverpool Road, Ashfield. The centre will be open with convenient hours throughout the week, including Saturday. Every blood donation can save up to three lives, and with ongoing demand from hospitals across NSW, our local donations make a real difference to patients who need transfusions for surgery, cancer treatment, childbirth complications and medical emergencies. The excellent Lifeblood centre in Marrickville, led by Jaime Cottrell-Dormer, is also open daily and after changing the rules last year to allow sexually active gay and bisexual men to donate, blood donation is more inclusive and accessible than ever. Whether you're a regular donor or thinking about giving blood for the first time, the team at Lifeblood will make sure you have a safe and comfortable experience. I encourage everyone who can to take up this great opportunity. Your generosity saves lives right here in our community!
