Marrickville's very own Lazybones Lounge Restaurant and Bar has taken out the coveted title of Licensee of the Year Award at the 2025 Australasian Performing Rights Association—APRA—Music Awards. Located within the new special entertainment precinct coming to Marrickville, Lazybones has been vital in supporting local artists and growing our local live music and entertainment economy. The award recognises the value that Lazybones has contributed to our local community and creative culture at large and to business sustainability. Lazybones hosts live music nearly every day of the week and has become an instantly recognisable icon of Sydney's music scene. Renowned for its commitment to artists, Lazybones consistently strives to keep Marrickville's music scene active and vibrant. I congratulate owner Craig Pietersen, Alexandra Heffernan and their whole team on the well-deserved recognition of their incredible efforts to keep the inner west music scene absolutely pumping.
