Lamia Super Deli has been part of the fabric of Marrickville for more than half a century, serving generations of local families and helping shape the suburb's identity as the heart of Sydney's Greek community. For 52 years Harry and Jim Cotsinis have met the challenges of running a small business and have remained a cherished local institution in an ever-changing neighbourhood, known by locals not only for their food but for their warmth, generosity and sense of connection they have brought to our community. Lamia has helped keep alive the rich migrant history that has made Marrickville such a vibrant and welcoming place. For many locals Lamia Super Deli was far more than a place to shop. It was a place where cultural traditions were passed from one generation to the next. The closure of Lamia Super Deli marks the end of an era for the Inner West. They will be dearly missed on Marrickville Road! Thank you to Harry and Jim and their family for everything they have given to Marrickville and I wish them every success for the future.
