Congratulations to Juno Smith, a Year 9 student at Marrickville High School, whose exceptional performance at the Australian Road Cycling Nationals demonstrates the incredible talent emerging from our local schools. Representing NSW Juno delivered truly remarkable results across three demanding events. Her bronze medal in the Individual Time Trial, competing against 28 riders from across the country, showcased her determination and skill. Not only did she claim third place overall, but she was the fastest NSW rider, edging out fourth place by just 0.6 seconds in a thrilling finish. Her consistent excellence continued in both of her other races in the event, finishing as the fastest NSW rider in both events. What makes Juno's achievements even more impressive is her immediate transition to representing Australia in Japan at the Coupe du Japon Fukukoka International XCO Race, competing alongside just eight other Australian cyclists. Juno's dedication, talent, and sportsmanship reflect the very best of our community. She inspires young people everywhere to pursue their dreams with passion and determination. Congratulations Juno – Marrickville High School and our entire community are incredibly proud of you!
