I share the concerns of Inner West residents about safety on Frederick Street, Ashfield, particularly following the recent tragic fatality. 

I have been working closely with Jason Yat Sen Li, Member for Strathfield, Clr Darcy Byrne and Inner West Council, and the local Police Area Command to improve safety at the intersection of John Street and Frederick Street, as well as safety all along Frederick Street. 

In April, we hosted a public meeting to hear directly from the community about their concerns. 

I have raised the issue a number of times in the NSW Parliament, including:

- A notice of motion on 29 March

- A question on notice to the Minister for Metropolitan Roads on 11 May

- A question on notice to the Minister for Metropolitan Roads on 30 March

I also wrote urgent letters to the Minister for Metropolitan Roads, Inner West Council and the local Police Area Commands following the accident. 

Rest assured I will continue to work with representatives from all levels of Government to improve safety along Frederick Street.
