The Ferncourt Family Fair is a genuine Inner West institution — and this year's event on Saturday 9 May 2026 proved exactly why. Marrickville does this so well. Community showing up, pitching in, making things happen. On Saturday families, teachers, local businesses and over 220 volunteers did exactly that — baking, organising, running stalls, donating and bidding at the live auction — because that is what Ferncourt does, and has done for generations. These fairs matter far beyond the fundraising. They build the everyday fabric of community — the connections between families, children and teachers that make a school feel like a true neighbourhood. They show our kids, in the most practical and joyful way, what community actually looks like in action. Real appreciation goes to every volunteer, every baker, every donor and every local business that got behind the fair. And deep thanks to Billy Priest, P&C President, and to Fair Lead and Vice President Jane Gibson, whose leadership brought this wonderful day to life. This year's Ferncourt Family Fair wasn't just an event. It was a shared effort — and it showed. Ferncourt — this is your community at its very best!
