That this House:

  1. Notes the clearing of native vegetation as part of work to maintain the High Pressure Oil Pipeline that runs along the banks of the Cooks River.
  2. Recognises this clearing poses a critical risk to local bushcare sites managed by volunteers and funded by all levels of government, as well as to the overall health and ecology of the river.
  3. Calls on the Minister for Energy and Environment to immediately halt this work, provide an urgent update on the state of the pipeline and explore all options to maintain the pipeline in ways that do not destroy important bushcare sites along the river.
