Jo Haylen moves that this House:
- Notes that according to a 2011 study by the National Union of Students, 67 per cent of female students revealed being subject to unwanted sexual experiences and 17 per cent reported being raped.
- Acknowledges that the prevalence of sexual assault and rape on university campuses is difficult to ascertain because many victims feel unsafe reporting their experience.
- Calls on the Government to fund a survey of sex assaults on New South Wales University and TAFE campuses and to fund consent workshops to teach university students about the importance of sexual consent.
