Congratulations to Marrickville Public School Principal Mr David Roberts on his retirement. Mr Roberts has made an outstanding contribution to public education in our community. He has been a dedicated and much-loved leader, known for his genuine care for students, staff and families alike. His weekly update to parents — famous for always tying in song lyrics that echo the message of the week - will be especially missed! Under his stewardship, Marrickville Public School has continued to grow as a warm, inclusive and high-achieving learning environment, one that reflects the very best values of public education and our Inner West community. Mr Roberts also oversaw a significant maintenance program at the school, delivering much-needed improvements to its facilities, including an upgrade to the beautiful library, making sure students and staff will benefit from a better-equipped learning environment. Mr Roberts' leadership has left a lasting impact on students who have passed through the school's gates, and on the teachers and staff who have worked alongside him. I thank Mr Roberts for his years of service and wish him a long, happy and well-deserved retirement.
