Connect Marrickville has established a community pantry at Marrickville West Primary school, with food and items donated by generous parents.
Connect Marrickville provides additional educational support to disadvantaged students and through the pantry is making sure no family has to go without.
The Ville Food Pantry on Marrickville Road was established by locals following a donation of an upcycled wardrobe by the Bower.
The Tempe Community Pantry is located under freight bridge on Unwins Bridge Road and is regularly stocked with long-life milk, sanitary products, and pasta. Thank you to local legend Peter James for rallying Tempe locals.
Pantries have also sprung up in Surrey Street, Marrickville, Ashfield Baptist Church and in Newtown, where locals set up the Newtown Blessing Box.
Thank you to those who donated their time and goods and who are looking out for their neighbours during this Covid-19 pandemic.
