Community and Cultural Connections Inc is based in Marrickville, providing culturally and linguistically appropriate and responsive services to seniors, people with a disability, their carers and family members. Like so many not-for-profit organisations, CCCI has seen a dramatic increase in demand for their services, right as they have had to pivot and adjust their programs and services to keep clients, staff and volunteers safe. In response to the COVID-19 outbreak and lockdown, CCCI have offered emergency and crisis relief support, food parcels and essential goods, bills assistance and financial support, social connection and wellbeing support as well as digital connection, technical support and training. Last week alone, CCCI provided emergency food support to 143 households. Importantly, their much loved dance, art and mindfulness classes have been able to continue online, giving people the opportunity to continue doing the things they love. CCCI has also been central to the local health response, providing COVID-19 and vaccine information and support in multiple languages. CCCI has also focused on supporting people's mental health and wellbeing, keeping people engaged and connected. I thank everyone at CCCI, including Vi Pham, for their important work during the COVID-19 outbreak.
