Congratulations Bike Marrickville on the 20th anniversary of the famous Chocolate and Fine Food Ride held this year on 5 April under brilliant blue skies. Initially conceived to demonstrate that people shopping by bike could benefit local businesses, this annual event is held around Easter each year and attracts riders, young and old, and even a few dogs! Whilst not promising a calorie neutral ride, organisers ensure a tour of many delicious inner west businesses including chocolatiers, gelato manufacturers, patisseries and more. I have been lucky enough to join a Chocolate and Fine Food Ride in previous years and can attest to how much fun can be had with great company and great food. The route uses the safest possible infrastructure to encourage return visits, and this is a fun and accessible way to try out local cycling routes if you are keen, but new to cycling. Thank you to Fiona Campbell, the driving force behind this fantastic event. Congratulations Bike Marrickville and Fiona on achieving 20 years of the Chocolate and Fine Food Ride.
