Congratulations to the Ashfield Boys High School prefect group for receiving a 2022 Amy Large Volunteering Award in early July!

The award is presented to groups that have made significant contributions within their local community.

The prefect group was recognised due to their efforts in creating a welcoming environment for the community returning to the high school following the 2021 COVID‑19 lockdown.

Every morning, the group of leaders would ensure that someone was greeting students and members in the community at the school's front gate. To make people feel safe, they handed out masks and provided hand sanitiser for those entering.

Ashfield Boys High School should be so proud of this fantastic group of role models that are helping lead the Ashfield community during such uncertain times.

I acknowledge School Captain Samuel Cropper; Vice Captain Moazan Ali; and Prefects Kush Kumar, Zaid Mohammed, Kingston Nacagilevu, Ethan Ng-Saad and Pranjal Pathak.

What a well-deserved award!
