With five AFL Women's games hosted at Marrickville's Henson Park, the real winners of this season were all the football lovers around the Inner West.

The Inner West has always been home to a lively sporting culture, and throughout October, local fans had plenty of opportunities to catch a game right in their backyards.

On Sunday 30 October, football fans came out in force to Henson Park for round ten, the last game of AFLW Season Seven. The long-awaited match saw the Greater Western Sydney Giants go head‑to‑head with the Gold Coast Suns.

In a triumphant effort, the Giants took the match 44-32, winning by an excellent twelve-point lead.

As the sun set, Giants fans rejoiced for the last time this year at our iconic Henson Park.

It will certainly be remembered as a milestone game for the Giants and also for all our local football fans.

Thank you AFL Women's for making a home here in Marrickville.
