Congratulations to Addison Road Community Centre for winning the prestigious Food for Good award at the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide Awards this week. This honour recognises their unwavering commitment to food justice, sustainability, and community care. Located in Marrickville, Addi Road is a hub of innovation and compassion. From their Food Pantry to their advocacy for equity and inclusion, they continue to uplift the most vulnerable in our community. Under the leadership of CEO Rosanna Barbero, Addi Road has transformed surplus food into dignity and nourishment for thousands, setting a powerful example of grassroots action. However, the real power of Addi Road is the hundreds of volunteers who commit their time and energy to make everything possible. To deliver just the Food Pantry services takes almost 900 volunteers! Winning the Food for Good award is a well-earned recognition of the Centre's impact and the strength of community-led solutions. Congratulations again to Rosanna and the entire Addi Road team‑ you make our community proud.
