1. Congratulates the Australian womens' sevens rugby team on winning the gold medal at the Rio Olympics, beating out New Zealand 24-17.

2. Notes the strong showing from our female athletes at this Olympics so far, with medals on the rugby field, shooting range, diving platform and in the pool.

3. Acknowledges the tenacity and resilience of women in sport, who often contend with less funding and support than their male counterparts.
