Jo Haylen moves that this House:
- Notes that the Government has issued letters to residents in Haberfield and along the corridor for the proposed M4 East Tunnel notifying of their intention to acquire sub-surface property without compensation.
- Notes that while this is permitted by the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991, property owners in other states and jurisdictions are duly compensated for sub-surface acquisitions.
- Considers that, by comparison, New South Wales residents are disadvantaged.
- Calls on the Government to change the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991 to allow for New South Wales residents to be fairly compensated for compulsory sub-surface acquisition.
