Congratulations to the Cooks River Valley Association (CRVA), and in particular Gareth Wreford, who led the project to install new sandstone seating at Hurlstone Park Boat Harbour. The new seats give locals a comfortable spot to pause, relax and connect with the Cooks River, our backyard river. It might seem like a small thing, but well-designed public spaces encourage people to spend time outdoors, slow down and enjoy their neighbourhood. These seats will become a place where families watch the river, friends catch up and walkers stop to take in the natural beauty on their doorstep. The installation is the result of many hours of work by CRVA's dedicated volunteers. From river clean-ups to bush regeneration, their care for the Cooks River can be seen right along its banks, and this project adds to that legacy. Thank you to Gareth for his leadership, and to everyone at CRVA. Your commitment to caring for the river and making our shared spaces better is deeply appreciated by our community.
