I extend my thanks to the staff and volunteers of the Marrickville PCYC who worked with NSW Health to establish a pop-up vaccination clinic.

As the Delta outbreak worsened, local residents were eager to get vaccinated but many faced barriers to accessing jabs. Many local organisations stepped up, generously offering their venues as vaccination hubs, including Inner West Council, Bethlehem College and the Parish of St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, and residents were thrilled when Sydney Local Health District partnered with the Marrickville PCYC to establish a pop-up clinic. It ensured hundreds of locals were able to get vaccinated and keep themselves and their loved ones safe from COVID-19.

I joined The Hon. Linda Burney in writing to NSW Health asking that a Koori Clinic be established and was thrilled when a Koori Clinic was also set up at the PCYC to ensure local First Nations people were able to access vaccines.

The Marrickville PCYC is the heart of the South Marrickville community, working to connect and empower young people and keep our community safe.

Thank you again for making this critical pop-up vaccination clinic possible and giving inner westies the opportunity to get vaccinated.
