That this House:

1. Notes that 9 August is International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples.

2. Notes and condemns the continuing dispossession and disadvantage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, with juvenile incarceration rates twenty-four times higher than non-indigenous Australians, infant mortality rate twice as high and a life expectancy ten years less than non-Aboriginal Australians.

3. Celebrates the proud and enduring culture of indigenous Australians, a culture that stretches back over 40,000 years and which represents the oldest living culture in the world.
