Congratulations to Inner West Neighbour Aid and Ashfield Boys High School on their outstanding Trolley Talk program—an intergenerational initiative bringing seniors and students together at Ashfield Mall. Led by Maja Sorensen from Inner West Neighbour Aid, this program sees seniors and students meet twice monthly during school terms to "shop, walk and talk," creating meaningful connections while supporting elderly community members with practical assistance. Inner West Neighbour Aid's vision of "a community where seniors connect and share their knowledge to lead active, social and independent lives" is beautifully realised through this program. The young men from Ashfield Boys High demonstrate exceptional community spirit, gaining valuable life skills while helping seniors maintain their independence. In an era where social isolation among our elderly is a growing concern, Trolley Talk provides a vital lifeline. For over 25 years, Inner West Neighbour Aid has been helping clients "stay independent, healthy and socially connected." This program exemplifies intergenerational collaboration, ensuring our seniors remain valued, supported members of our community while nurturing compassion and civic responsibility in our youth. I commend all involved in this fantastic initiative.
