This National Sorry Day Dulwich Hill Public School demonstrated what it truly looks like to move from sorry to action. First Nations students led a whole-school assembly and bravely shared their families' experiences of the Stolen Generation, setting a powerful and deeply moving tone for the day. Supported by a Together for Humanity grant, the school hosted two further extraordinary events. Peta-Joy Williams brought together mums, nans and carers for a weave and yarn gathering, and Konanggo Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Services facilitated a truth-telling event. Stolen Generation survivor Aunty Pam Young, supported by her son, Robert Young, shared her deeply moving story with staff, parents, educators and community members. The breadth of that gathering—Indigenous and non-Indigenous community members—spoke volumes about our collective commitment to truth-telling, healing and meaningful progress. I sincerely thank principal Chris Baker, assistant principal Alisha Bourke and the facilitators, participants and supporters who made this day so profoundly special.
