Sydney's inner west is well served by public transport. The Minns Labor Government is absolutely focused on making sure people in my community can rely on services that are frequent, accessible and work for everyone's busy lives. The investments we are making make public transport better. They grow community support for public transport, and we see that in increased tap-ons and tap-offs. They ease congestion on our local roads. They help people to get to work, education and services. We all win when more people catch public transport, and Annandale locals are no different. The Inner West line, the L1, is central to daily travel in that part of the world. The Inner West Light Rail services Annandale through three well located stops providing strong local access.

Rozelle Bay serves the northern and eastern parts of Annandale. Lilyfield serves the north‑western part of the suburb. Jubilee Park provides convenient access for the eastern part of Annandale. It is also adjacent to the excellent Jubilee Oval, where the Glebe Greyhounds under‑12s remain undefeated this season, I am pleased to say. The Government has continued to strengthen these crucial services. Since June 2023 we have added more than 650 additional light rail services to the L1. In April 2024 we extended the operating hours of the L1 to now match the L2 and L3 City and Eastern Suburbs line. It runs from 5.00 a.m. to 1.00 a.m. every day. We now have services every six minutes during the peak as well as on weekends and public holidays between 10.00 a.m. and 7.00 p.m. It runs services every 10 minutes from 7.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m., Sunday to Thursday, and from 7.00 p.m. to 11.00 p.m. Friday and Saturday. What a great way to get to Vivid or to the new Sydney Fish Market. The L1 is now a high frequency reliable service that people do not even need to check their timetable to catch.

These improvements deliver real benefits for locals and ultimately result in fewer cars being on the roads. We have seen people voting with their feet through increased tap-ons and tap-offs. It is not just light rail where we are seeing increased patronage. The 470, which is a critical bus service for Annandale that operates between Lilyfield and the CBD, runs every 10 minutes Monday to Saturday, and every 15 minutes on Sundays. The 469 between MarketPlace Leichhardt and Glebe via Booth Street runs every 30 minutes, or better. Between May 2023 and May 2026, average weekday tap-ons at Annandale increased by over 10 per cent. We have also seen increases in light rail tap‑ons of 67 per cent and tap‑offs of 69 per cent in Annandale alone. That is an incredible increase in public transport usage and something we should be very proud of.

Of course, as our community grows, those existing connections of bus and light rail are complemented by our ferry investments. That is exactly what our Government is doing. On top of these improvements, we have added Pirrama Park to the F10 and, of course, we have added it and Blackwattle Bay to the Opal network. We are also making improvements across the F10 route. The Sydney Fish Market connections are coming online, thanks to our Government—something the former Government completely neglected in the redevelopment—and we are looking at future connections at the redevelopment of the Bays West Precinct. We are looking to also electrify those ferry services, and we added the Elliott Street wharf service for Balmain in August 2025. We are investing in public transport. We know it makes a real difference in the lives of inner west residents.
