$250,000 for Bill Crews Foundation to fit out Mobile Food Vans
Bill Crews Foundation will receive $250,000 in support via the Minns Labor Government’s Infrastructure Grants Program to fit out mobile food vans.
The Infrastructure Grants Program is made possible by ClubGrants Category 3, a fund which directs profits from registered clubs’ gaming machines into community projects, while clubs receive a tax concession in return.
Since 2013, more than 880 community projects have been awarded $152 million under the funding program.
The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation works to address the cause and effect of homelessness and poverty, as well as unemployment, through a combination of caring services like food provision, social welfare and education support.
Their fleet of mobile food vans deliver free meals and emergency food parcels to those in need at locations across Sydney.
Rev Bill Crews said:
“For people struggling to make ends meet, this vital service provides not just food but also a lifeline of hope and relief. This $250,000 grant will ensure our vans are able to continue this critical, much-needed service.”
David Harris MP, Minister for Gaming and Racing said:
“It’s so pleasing to see this round of Infrastructure Grants go to a large number of worthy groups who are working hard for their communities in such a variety of ways across the state.”
Jo Haylen MP, Member for Summer Hill said:
“Rev Bill Crews and his dedicated team provide a vital service supporting not just those in need in the Summer Hill electorate but right across Sydney. I’m proud that the Minns Labor Government is providing $250,000 to ensure that Rev Bill can continue to deliver meals to those most in need.”
