From all my conversations with taxi plate owners and taxi drivers, it is crystal clear that they are heartbroken and angry after having been let down time and again by this Liberal-Nationals Government. Taxi plate owners and their families have been waiting on this bill for more than seven years—the equivalent of nearly two parliamentary terms in New South Wales—because this Government would not do right by them.

Does the Premier agree with his fellow Liberal MP the Hon. Chris Rath who last night said, regarding the New South Wales manufacturing industry, "It's not easy for us to manufacture mass transportation options, such as ferries, at a reasonable cost", and, regarding manufacturing mass transportation, "We do not hold the comparative advantage."?

Labor supports the Electric Vehicles (Revenue Arrangements) Bill 2021 and welcomes the sensible amendments agreed to by the Legislative Council. It showed where the vast majority of sensible voices in this place and the community are on the uptake of electric vehicles. The technology is moving very quickly and we want New South Wales to be a part of that.
