We, the undersigned petitioners call on the NSW Government to acknowledge the disruption caused by the closure of the Inner West light rail and provide replacement buses at no cost to commuters.
On 5 November 2021 the NSW Transport Minister Rob Stokes announced the closure of the Inner West light rail for up to 18 months due to significant cracking found in all vehicles. The decommissioning of every single tram on the Inner West line is a comprehensive failure by the NSW government. This is a complete debacle as NSW emerges from the lockdown, that will make it harder for workers to get back to business, for students to get to school, for families to meet up, and for life in Sydney to get back to normal. The NSW Government must do all it can to help by providing additional replacement buses at no cost to the thousands of Inner West residents who have been so severely affected. We, the undersigned petitioners call on the NSW Government to acknowledge the disruption caused by the closure of the Inner West light rail and provide replacement buses at no cost to commuters.
