We have an absurd situation where travelling by bus is now more expensive, despite being less reliable. Public transport is a basic right and making it more expensive will hit vulnerable people hardest.

Inner West commuters have voiced their frustration and anger with the Baird Government’s management of the bus network with over 2,660 complaints lodged in the last financial year by Summer Hill residents.

The Premier was intent on making hardworking families who were losing their homes pay and, despite his apologies, he did absolutely nothing to help those inner west families who are being ripped off by a process that we now know was rigged from the start. 

We must do more to protect people caught in a debt spiral by the enforcement of fines.
